We had a very busy and exciting week!
We had two field trips and the 5th grade musical amid all of our learning.
In reading we got a head start on the trimester 3 target of retelling a story.
The class read Mr. Putter and Tabby Fly a Plane. They then worked with partners to fill in a story map, use the information on the story map to write the retell, and illustrate part of the story.
The class has been doing a great job with opinion writing.
This week we wrote a paragraph with reasons that supported why Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great leader.
We read two stories, a Scholastic News magazine, and watched a short Brainpop Jr. video to research information.

This is our brainstorming sheet. We write all of our ideas, then pick and choose the 3 reasons we will include in our paragraph. |

After brainstorming, we fill in our planning sheet. This organizes our ideas so we are reading to write. |
