We'll see...
In math we explored different concepts of probability.
We used the terms certain, likely, unlikely, and impossible. Through our discussions we also added the use of equally likely.
We kept track of the sums of 2 dice and discussed why we roll a 6, 7, or 8 more often than 2 or 12.
We discussed different scenarios, decided if it was true or false and explained why.
The class really enjoyed the extends practice where they had to follow the rules to create their own coin probability bag.
We also learned about extending our literacy target of determining the main idea of an article and paragraphs within the article.
The students worked in small groups and were given mixed up sentences about an unknown topic.
They had to sort and categorize the sentences into like groups, create a heading for each group, and write a title or main heading for all of the sentences together.
We had a lot of fun creating instruments on Wednesday with our mystery boxes.
The kids did a great job creating instruments with different pitches.
We have been using our Ipads to research some places we would like to visit in our chosen state.
It is amazing how many "World's Largest ________" there are!
We are looking forward to our 2nd grade music program.
The kids have been busy practicing in music and are ready to put on a great show!
The program will start at 6:30 on Wednesday night.
See you there!
Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!
